Collecting Moments and Faking Memories

This summer's Art Inquiry is over now, but you can take home some leftovers, in the form of a fantastic independent project by Mindy Souvannalay. It is such a fun and engaging book that, to be honest, it is a lot more like dessert than leftovers (but we'll still let you take it home).

All good things....

One of the things that I really enjoy about New Urban Arts is the way that well-planned workshops and programs can live side-by-side with spontaneous expressions of creativity! Yesterday I had the privilege to facilitate the final presentations of the Summer Art Inquiry Project. For two and a half hours, the folks in the program were focused on viewing and discussing every project that had been completed over six weeks. While that was going on, the 'Zine Team was making the final preparations for last night's 'Zine Swap. Meanwhile, outside the studio, street paintings were being made to greet the 'Zine Swap guests.

It's been a great summer of group programs and individual creativity -- and I'm really happy to have been a part of it!
